What The Job Involves
We come out and look, free, and give you a written number before we leave. Then we agree what happens: every item examined, or the whole place emptied by a deadline. Both are ordinary.
Crews arrive in plain vehicles and work one room at a time, so the house never looks turned inside out. Your keepers get boxed and labelled. Usable goods go to New Mexico charities with a receipt in your name. The rest is hauled and disposed of legally.
Then we clean what the piles were hiding. Floors, walls, and any damage nobody knew about. Odor gets handled where it starts, not covered over.
You walk through before we leave. Anything wrong is put right the same day.

Why It Builds Up
Hoarding is a recognized condition, not laziness and not a housekeeping failure. The brain treats ordinary objects as though getting rid of them carries genuine risk, so nothing goes out. Do that for ten years and a house fills.
It nearly always starts with something specific. A death. A diagnosis. An injury that made bending impossible. A stretch of depression that nobody around the person noticed.
Which is why emptying a house behind somebody’s back tends not to hold. The house gets clear, the trust does not survive it, and within a year the piles are back. We sort alongside people wherever they will allow it.
A Few Things That Are Particular To Here
Adobe and traditional construction. Mud walls, vigas and latillas do not tolerate the same handling as stud-and-drywall. Moisture behaves differently in them and a crew that has never worked on adobe can cause real damage hauling furniture out. Ours have.
The dry air helps you. New Mexico’s climate means less mould than we find almost anywhere else. Organic material dries rather than rotting. That genuinely lowers the cost of a lot of jobs here, and we would rather tell you that than quote as if you were in a humid state.
But heat is its own problem. A closed-up house in Las Cruces or Carlsbad in July gets brutal inside. Food waste, pests and odor accelerate hard. We schedule summer jobs early and bring cooling and water for the crew.
Altitude. Santa Fe and Taos sit high, and hauling heavy loads up stairs at seven thousand feet is slower work. We plan for it instead of running behind.

Where Everything Goes
Keepers boxed, labelled and left where you can reach them. Good furniture and clothing to New Mexico charities. Paperwork with account numbers on it shredded rather than dumped somewhere readable. Paint, chemicals and propane routed to proper disposal, because household waste is neither legal nor safe for those.
If The House Is Somebody Else’s
Read this part carefully. Turning up with a dumpster and a deadline is the surest way to make everything worse, and we have cleared houses twice because a family tried it first.
Bring us in before the confrontation. Let the person meet us. Hearing from somebody outside the family that nobody has come to shame them changes the room, and resistance that has held for years often eases within an hour.
